My Partner in Crime Has Left

Got the official news yesterday that my co-worker who recently left the country to visit her ill mother will not be coming back as an employee.  She's decided to pursue other business opportunities for herself.  I'm really sad to know that the Saturday partner that I've had for almost 2 years won't be coming back.  We won't get to share little glances and raised eyebrows about our more colourful clients anymore.  I won't be able to ask her advice on what to do about work related things.  There are others still available for that, but she was always so patient and explained everything so well.  We worked really well as a team when things came up and had no problem coming up with an action plan for how to handle more difficult things.  Work is not going to be the same without her.  She has many long-time clients who will definitely miss her too.

Not sure what exactly is going to happen with her position.  Right now we've juggled the schedule so that every shift is covered.  But, as soon as someone gets sick or needs a vacation longer than a couple of days, things could get sticky.

I guess I can officially make the third workstation my own now.  But, I don't think I'll do that right away.  It isn't like I've got time to be rearranging stuff in the office right now anyway.

Awww, that's so sad!! Although I love coming to visit you at the office, it just won't be the same now without your partner in crime there! I think I might cry!!
