12 hour shift

Today I get to work a 12 hour shift. Urgh! Actually, it isn't so bad. I did have the option of coming to work late and only doing 8 hours, but decided against it. What tipped the scale for me was when I tried to think of what I would do with the extra time in the morning. I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep (much as I would've liked to). Even though I got a ride to work this morning and technically could have slept in for an extra hour, I still woke up before my alarm went off. There are a few household chores that I could've done, but honestly, the dishes are not worth 4 hours of extra money (especially if I find out that Lance did them when I get home). So, if I hadn't come to work, I probably would have just sat for most of that extra time in front of the computer, doing essentially the exact same thing I'm doing right now. Only here I get paid for it :)

Work is kinda crazy right now. One of my co-workers is out of the country and it's kind of up in the air as to when/if she will return. I feel kinda bad since I'm actually benefitting the most from her absence. I'm getting full-time hours and I can use her desk instead of sharing like I used to have to. It's nice not having to share, but I'd swap the desk for the co-worker in a heartbeat!

Another side effect of the juggled schedule is that my boss/father-in-law will be working the counter more than usual. In fact, there will be a couple of Saturdays that I get to work with him. That should be interesting since Saturdays have the potential of being a crazy day or a boring day (hmmm, I wonder if the Saturday Curse is genetic???)

Anyway, 10 hours down, only 2 more to go before the bus ride home full of annoying people. I'm looking forward to getting home though. I picked up a surprise for Lance and am looking forward to giving it to him (don't get dirty on me, it isn't that kind of surprise!

Oooooh, what's the surprise?! Okay, just saw the weather forecast on the early morning Global news . . . Sunday's weather, cloudy, high of 13 degrees. Maybe I should be a meteorologist?

I got him an MP3 case he can attach to his arm and some more comfortable headphones. This way he can easily run with him MP3 player for the Sun Run.
