Today is a Good Day

I am in a very good mood today. I managed to wake up on time and get out of bed right away (more or less). I did my workout and felt pretty good about it. Then, much to my relief, I realized that I had leftovers from dinner last night to take to lunch, so the fact I was running late didn't matter. Lunch was ready and packed in the time it takes to wash an apple and drop a few things in my bag. I had a lovely commute in reading a great book by Eva Ibbotson called Songs for Summer. I should finish it pretty soon and I'll hopefully have time to review it.

Tonight, we are having a dinner party. It's going to be the first time this group of friends has been over to our place. The place is totally ready. Thanks to my new FlyLady system (that's a whole other post topic) and some hard work from me and Lance, everything is clean and presentable (well, there are always the last minute dishes and change of towels, etc. that will get done after we get home from work today). The homemade soup is beginning its time in the crock pot, white wine is chilling, ice cubes and juice are ready to go, and the dishes are clean and just waiting to be piled high with delicious Italian food!

Part of my mood probably comes from a very enjoyable evening yesterday. Lance had a training thing in the afternoon with his Dad and then they both came back to my office (where Lance's Dad is the manager). So, when it came time to go home, I got a ride with my wonderful husband who was in a good mood. Then we had a pretty successful grocery shopping trip. (I am getting more involved in cooking to the point where grocery shopping is becoming a bit more enjoyable and interesting for me.) We arrived home in good spirits, had a bit of a fun wrestling match to warm up before our workout. Ate dinner, did some tidying, and even got to bed early!

You are disgustingly happy today. It's just sickening ;-)

Checking in at (almost) the end of the day, I'm still in a pretty good mood. My sheer energy level has waned a bit due to the fact that we have been so incredibly slow today! A little action would have been nice, but I don't really mind. Now I just get to look forward to a bus ride home and then getting ready for entertaining.
